The European Union will provide Tajikistan with financial assistance in human development, agribusiness, management of state finances and energy spheres, CA-News quotes the EU office in Dushanbe as reporting on Friday.
Tajikistan and EU discussed the prospects of cooperation for 2014-2020 during the visit of Director for Asia, Central Asia and Pacific, European Commission General Directorate for Cooperation and Development Dirk Meganck, who visited the country on Jan.23-26.
The sides paid special attention to macroeconomic stability of Tajikistan, the development of health, social protection and water resources.
The EU-Tajikistan human development programs, financial agreement on which was signed in August, 2011, are amounted to €26 million. The agreement on agribusiness worth €16 million is expected to be signed at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
