Azerbaijani citizens to have access to Turkish mortgage market

The Turkish Akbank is ready for a project to contribute to engaging Persian Gulf, Azerbaijani and Turkmen citizens in Turkey's mortgage market, the bank told Trend on Monday.

The project includes forming a portfolio amounting to $1 billion for housing finance. The portfolio will be formed using investments from these countries.

The structure will hold a roadshow in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the bank said.

Akbank plans to increase its assets volume by 30 percent in 2012.

Akbank holds a leading position on the Turkish banking market. It employs 15,000 people and has 870 branches in Turkey. The bank operates via subsidiaries in Germany and the Netherlands, as well as Malta.
