Kazakhstan to launch website of "People's IPO" program

In April Kazakhstan will launch a website and call-center of program "The People's IPO", Deputy Chairman of the National Welfare Fund of Kazakhstan "Samruk-Kazyna" Kuandyk Bishimbayev said at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the Department of Public Relations of the Fund said today.

Bishimbaev said the Fund in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan in the IV quarter of 2011 initiated information and explanatory work, and in January 2012 the matter was fully transferred to the Fund.

In this regard, "Samruk-Kazyna" approved plan to organize information and explanatory work on program "The People's IPO" for 2012, according to which the work in two directions is expected.

The first task is information and education campaign among the population, which involves the launch of a website and call-center of the program.

He said in addition all key republican and regional media will be involved, information and explanatory groups in the regions will be formed, public lectures and field seminar organized, promotional points will open, promotion technology through the Internet and other advertising and PR-tools will be used.

The second direction is advertising and marketing work, which KazTransOil will begin from August 15.

"Much attention under the campaign is paid to the regional dimension," said the Deputy Chairman of the Foundation.

So, from April 9, 2012 across the country, including remote locations, 200 public lectures and 625 field seminars will be organized.

"Once they are completed road show of KazTransOil with the participation of top managers and employees will be organized in the same locations, during which they will present their own companies and be able to bring to public attention the specific proposals for the sale of shares", the report noted.

Kuandyk Bishimbayev also explained that in order to enable the acquisition of shares by citizens living in the regions, it is suggested to use the transfer-agent network of JSC "Kazpost".

Meanwhile, the Fund plans to increase the number of offices and delivery points of the transfer agency and brokerage services to cover all settlements with a number of them over 2,000 people. Thus, by the time of initial public offerings the number of points providing transfer agency services will increase from 17 to 3,050.

Deputy Chairman of the Fund concluded that "most of the preparatory work on the program will be conducted in the first half of 2012".
