The Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers issued a decree to conduct an inventory of all filling stations to create an efficient and reliable system of rendering services and to avoid accidents.

According to the decree, a specially created working commission will examine existing filling stations and gas-filling compressor stations or those under construction for compliance with standards and requirements in terms of allocation of land for their construction and commissioning.

The personnel, availability of fire fighting tools and equipment, the degree of safe operation will be examined.

According to the summarized results, the proposals will be prepared to improve the regulatory framework for the construction and exploitation of petrol stations and gas-filling compressor stations, their optimal location taking into account the development of the transport and engineering infrastructure of the areas and construction of new fueling stations meeting current requirements for safe operation and town planning norms.

Previously, the Uzbek government has decided to tighten the order of compulsory technical inspection of vehicles. The service life, gas cylinders, year of production, serial number, gas equipment requirements will be examined.

It was reported that the filling station, located near the Tashkent International Airport, exploded on April 1. The fuel tank burst into flame.

According to the official figures, nobody was injured.
