Turkish company to build cotton spinning factories in Turkmenistan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has instructed the Textile Industry Ministry to conclude several major contracts with the Turkish Norsel International Insaat Dis Ticaret Sanayi company to construct cotton spinning factories in the regions, the official Turkmen source said today.

The projects will implement tasks assigned to the industry and further expand its capacity to produce the goods conforming with international standards.

In particular, the matter rests in the design and construction of a cotton spinning factory in Kunya Urgench region, Dashoguz province. It will produce 6,000 tons of cotton of yarn per year.

The project consists of external engineering networks, training of specialists.

According to the document, it is planned to begin construction operations in April 2012
and commission the facility in February 2014.

The next contract is designed to develop the reconstruction project of a cotton mill with a production capacity of 4,000 tons of cotton yarn per year in Turkmenabat, Lebap province.

The package includes a contract to design and construct a cotton spinning factory with a
capacity of 6,000 tons of cotton yarn per year in the city of Sadie, Lebap province.
