Azerbaijan’s trade turnover exceeded $11 billion since January

The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan announced the results of foreign trade operations conducted between January-April 2012 with 129 world countries, the SCC told Trend on Monday.

The total volume of the country's trade turnover amounted to $11.335 billion, which exceeds the figure for the same period of last year by 5.72 per cent.

Agreements to the sum of $5.531 billion were formed in foreign trade operations. During this period, 4763 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign trade operations, 2638 of whom were legal and 2125, physical.

During the first four months of 2012, export operations reached $8.433 billion or 5.36 per cent more than the same period of 2011.

The share of public sector exports totalled $8.033 billion (95.26 per cent), private - $378 million (4.48 per cent) and the share of physical entities $21.76 million (0.26 per cent).
In the first four months of 2012, imports amounted to $2.902 million, or 6.79 per cent more than the same period in 2011.

The share of the public sector in import operations amounted to $636.4 million (21.93 per cent), the private sector $2.12 billion (73.05 per cent) and physical entities $142.1 million (4.9 per cent).

In January-April Azerbaijan exported 1177 types of commodities and imported 5089 into the country.
