Technical committee on standardisation created in Azerbaijan

A technical committee on the standardisation of the evaluation of land and geographic information and geomantic has been created in Azerbaijan, a statement issued by the State Committee on Standardisation, Metrology and Patents said on Friday.
According to the report, a technical committee has been established by a joint decree of the State Committees for Standardisation and the Land and Cartography.
A technical committee includes subcommittees covering the evaluation of land, methods to improve the quality, service on geo-property, management of information and inventory information society, images, geodesy and cartography.
The structure of technical committee consists of relevant central executive bodies, government agencies, leading research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and a number of universities and companies.
Functions of the technical committee includes the evaluation of land, buildings, land cadastre, geodesy and cartography, geographic information systems, data base space and security of navigation charts, design and preparation of plans for standardisation in the field of national data infrastructure space, state standards, amendments and changes in the existing standards and providing for the approval of the relevant central executive bodies' proposals for their abolition .
