The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) announced results of foreign trade operations with 135 countries in Jan.-June 2012, the State Committee told Trend today.
The country's total trade turnover amounted to $17.17 billion, or 1.4 percent less compared to the same period of 2011.
Black ink worth $8.25 billion was formed in foreign-trade operations.
During this period 6,246 legal and physical entities were involved in the foreign-trade operations, 3,069 of them were legal entities, while 3,177 physical entities.
Export operations amounted to $12.71 billion for the first six months of 2012 or 2.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2011.
Share of public sector in export amounted to $12.06 billion (94.89 percent), private sector - $577.89 million (4.55 percent), share of physical entities - $73.73 million (0.58 percent).
As of the first six months, import hit $4.46 million or 3.14 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.
Share of public sector in import operations amounted to $901.62 million (20.22 percent), private sector - $2.71 billion (74.66 percent), physical entities - $227.94 million (5.11 percent).
Azerbaijan exported 1,714 types of commodities and imported 5,548 types in Jan.-June.
