Plant started batteries production for automotive industry in Uzbekistan

Uzbek JSC Jizzakh battery plant has launched a production line for calcium maintenance-free batteries for the automotive industry of the country worth $9.5 million, a government source told Trend on Wednesday.

By the end of 2012 the company plans to produce about 800,000 unattended calcium batteries.

The company will reach full capacity in 2013.

Companies from South Korea, Germany and Italy are the suppliers of the equipment.

The project will be financed at the expense of the shareholders of the plant - joint stock company Uzavtoprom Bank Asaka, JSC Plant Markazi , CJSC JV GM Uzbekistan.

JSC Jizzakh battery plant with a share capital of 74.2 billion soum was formed in March 2010 on the basis of the Uzbek-American Joint Venture UzEksayd, announced bankrupt by the economic court of Jizzakh region in 2009.

Shares of the plant have been placed among the creditors of the company according to the amount of payable.

The main shareholder is the plant JSC Uzavtosanoat, which owns 79.69 percent of shares, Asaka bank owns 12.19 percent, Plant Markazi - 5.75 percent, Ltd. joint venture GM Uzbekistan - 1,9 percent.
