Iran will start implementing the second phase of the subsidy reform plan in the current year, which ends on March 20, 2013, a member of the Iranian parliament (Majlis) stated.

"Certainly, implementation of the second phase of the subsidy reform plan will not be delayed till the next year," ISNA News Agency quotes Gholamreza Mesbahi Moqaddam as saying.

Over 74 million Iranians are paid cash subsidies.

The first stage of the subsidy reform plan, which is mainly focused on cutting fuel subsidies, started in December 2010.
