Azerbaijani banks show increased interest in high-tech solutions for information security

Azerbaijani banks discussed technologies which are of interest for modern banks in order to ensure information security and information technology development, Banking club members told Trend on Tuesday.

Discussions were held during the second meeting of the Banking club, which also included presentations of the latest Epson solutions for the banking sector.

"During the discussions it became clear that the most relevant technologies for banks are IT management and strategy, security policy, IT risk management, licensing products, cloud computing, mobile banking and IT audit," the club members said.

Banking club was created to ensure in the Azerbaijani banks information security and information technology development. The meeting participants agreed to meet on a monthly basis, and each session will be devoted to one of the vendors.

This was the first community in Azerbaijan, where IT-directors and board members of banks could get together and informally discuss issues related to the development of information technology in banks.

Banking club members plan to conduct the next, third meeting in late August 2012, vendors - manufacturers of APC and Printronix will make reports.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Pasha Bank, Gunay Bank, Rabitabank, DekaBank and other banks, and was attended by representatives of Epson, including the head of Epson in Central Asia and Caucasus Sergey Glebov.

Seiko Epson Corporation is structural unit of a diversified group of Japanese Seiko, one of the largest manufacturers of inkjet, dot matrix and laser printers, MFPs, projectors and scanners. Since 2006, the Epson is active in the market of Azerbaijan and considers South Caucasus as one of the strategically important markets.
