Over 87 percent of bank loans fall to Baku

The loans given to the population in the Azerbaijani regions hit 1.398.7 billion manat as of July 1, 2012 or 12.9 percent of the total loan portfolio of banks, the Azerbaijani Central Bank's statistics report said today.

According to the CBA, as of June 1, 2012 the banks delivered 10.834.81 billion manat, including 7.174.35 billion manat (66.2 percent) in national currency and 3.660.46 billion manat (34.1 percent) - in freely convertible currency.

In Baku, the figure was 9.436.07 billion manat, where the loans in national currency hit 6.098.83 billion manat.

The average interest rate in the country as of July 1 was 15.7 percent, Baku - 15 percent.

The lending volume on Absheron economic region totaled 321.22 million manat at an average rate of 18 percent, Aran - 315.89 million manat 22.2 percent, Mountain-Shirvan - 34.23 million manat 21.4 percent, Ganja -Gazakh - 300.04 million manat 21 percent, Guba-Khachmaz - 121.3 million manat 20 percent, Lankaran - 124.95 million manat 24.2 percent, Sheki-Zagatala - 82.26 million manat 20 percent, the Upper Karabakh - 14.13 million manat 22.5 percent, Kalbajar-Lachin - 2.21 million manat 17.7 percent, Nakhchivan - 77.81 million manat 12 percent.
