The volume of bilateral trade turnover between Austria and Azerbaijan is on the rise, which plays an important role in the cooperation between the two countries, Austrian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Sylvia Maier-Kajbic told reporters on Friday.
"Last year, volume of total bilateral trade turnover amounted to about 150 million euros, but the important fact is growth trend of trade turnover from year to year. In the first half of 2012, the total volume of export and import operations hit about 60 million euros," Maier-Kajbic said.
She said technical equipment is mainly exported from Austria to Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijan exports oil to Austria.
"Azerbaijan has great opportunities in order to supply also non-oil products to Austria, including food products - fruits and vegetables and other products in the future," Maier-Kajbic stressed.
