Iran to allocate $5.4 billion worth of loans to agricultural sector by March

Iran plans to give 66 trillion rials (some $5.4 billion dollars) worth of loans to businesses active in the agricultural field by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 19, 2013) in order to carry out several projects in the next year, the Managing Director of Agricultural Bank of Iran Mohammad Talebi said.

Iran plans to give 66 trillion rials (some $5.4 billion dollars) worth of loans to businesses active in the agricultural field by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 19, 2013) in order to carry out several projects in the next year, the Managing Director of Agricultural Bank of Iran Mohammad Talebi said.

"The Agricultural Bank of Iran will provide 1.87 trillion rials ($152 million) worth of the loans," he said.

It is while deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad Alireza Orangi said on October 30 that Iran plans to give 50 trillion rials (some $4 billion dollars) worth of loans to theses agricultural businesses by the year end.

The National Development Fund (NDF), Agricultural Bank of Iran, Bank Sepah, and Bank Saderat Iran are in charge of offering these facilities, the IRIB quoted Orangi as saying.

Talebi said last week that Iran inaugurated 4724 agricultural projects during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year which began March 20, creating more than 13,656 direct and indirect jobs.
