Kazakh KazMunaiGas, Atameken Union sign memorandum of cooperation

Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) and 'Atameken' Union' National Economic Chamber of Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of business support and development, the press service of KMG EP reported.

The agreement was signed during the first Congress of Kazakhstan's manufacturers held in Aktau.

"Priority areas of cooperation between the Atameken Union and KazMunaiGas Exploration Production are those concerning the development and promotion of model investment projects for small and medium enterprises involved in the production of goods and services, and the attraction of foreign investments in key sectors of the economy," the statement said.

The parties also intend to carry out a joint analysis of business development in various sectors of the economy in order to identify constraints, including administrative barriers, and to then develop proposals for their elimination.

In addition, the KMG EP and the Atameken Union are going to take active parts in the development and implementation of programs related to the development of entrepreneurship, the promotion of the development of local manufacturers and supplier networks, as well as the support of the initiatives of entrepreneurs in the introduction of advanced technology and environmental protection.

Allocation of 500 million Tenge (150.13 Tenge = $1) is planned for projects that will be implemented in the framework of the memorandum.
