Reconstruction of the main entrance to "28 May" station of Baku Metro is to be completed by Sept.15, the head of Baku Metro Taghi Ahmadov told journalists on Sunday.
He also noted that within 2-2.5 years it is planned to put into operation the second exit of "Elmlyar Akademiyasi" metro station.
According to Ahmadov, opening of a new metro station is expected by year-end, but the head of Baku Metro didn't mention its name.
Baku Metro has been operating since 1967 and has 23 stations.
Currently, Baku Metro consists of two lines, but with implementation of a 20-year program the number of subway lines is planned to be increased to five.
The length of Baku Metro will be 119 kilometers and the number of stations will reach 76. Respectively, 53 new stations will be built and 84.3 kilometers of new paths paved.
