Austria interested in investments in Georgia

During her visit to Vienna, Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze briefed the president of the Federation of Austrian Industry Georg Kapsch on the business environment in Georgia; in particular, reforms aimed at improving the country's investment climate.

As the Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend, the parties noted a number of areas of future cooperation such as tourism, transport, infrastructure and agriculture. According to Panjikidze, these areas are a priority for the Georgian government as well.

"Georgia and Austria have had a mutually good experience in their cooperation in recent years accompanied by 250 million euros of investments. Following today's meeting, we expressed interest in participating in projects in agricultural, tourism, and logistics," Kapsch said after the meeting.

As Panjikidze noted, Kapsch expressed interest in investment in Georgia and expressed his wish to visit the country with a group of businessmen who will consider specific investment proposals.
"I hope that this visit will take place in the near future," Panjikidze said.
