Minister: Azerbaijan to coordinate solving the unemployment problem in OIC countries (PHOTO)

Azerbaijan has pledged to coordinate the solving the problems with unemployment in the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for the next two years, Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection Fizuli Alakbarov told the media on Tuesday.

Azerbaijan has pledged to coordinate the solving the problems with unemployment in the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for the next two years, Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection Fizuli Alakbarov told the media on Tuesday.

Today Baku hosts a meeting of representatives of the Labour Ministries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The city will also host the Ministerial Conference of the OIC member-states from April 25-26.

He added that holding such a conference in Baku is a response to the global challenges in solving the unemployment problem. Our country voices ambitious plans in this area at a conference and the member states are also interested in learning the Azerbaijani experience.

Azerbaijan is committed to coordinating the various countries' joint activity in eliminating the unemployment problem for the next two years.

"Taking the measures to ensure demand in the labour force in the global labour market, as well as resolving one of the most important issues of the Islamic countries, namely unemployment among young people and women are the main priorities in resolving these issues by the ministry," said the minister.

Measures will be taken for compliance of the labour market to the existing potential of the economy, as well as bringing education in accordance with the requirements of the labour market.
