Istanbul Stock Exchange ranks second on profitability worldwide

The Istanbul Stock Exchange was the second exchange in terms of profitability in the world in March 2013, Anadolu agency said today with reference to the World Federation of Exchanges.

It is reported that the Istanbul Stock Exchange earned income for its shareholders to the amount of 8.3 percent in March.

According to the report, Buenos Aires exchange (Argentina) was the most profitable in March. Buenos Aires Exchange shareholders' income was 8.7 percent.

The Japanese exchange raked third in terms of profitability. Tokyo Stock Exchange TOPIX earned income for its shareholders to the amount of 6.1 percent in March.

The greatest loss was recorded in March at the Athens Stock Exchange. The loss of the founders of Athens Stock Exchange amounted to 13.9 percent, followed by the Egyptian Stock Exchange - 7.1 percent.

The third stock exchange, the shares of which fell by 6.8 percent, was the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
