Compulsory Insurance Bureau in Azerbaijan paid about $83,000 in compensations

Azerbaijan's Compulsory Insurance Bureau made 13th compensatory payments in its history, the bureau informed Trend on Friday.

According to the report, money in the amount of 5,000 manats was paid to a member of the family of the person who died in a road accident in Buzovna settlement of Khazar district of Baku.

The compensation payment was made by means of cashless money transfer (by mail).

The total amount of compensations, so far paid by Bureau is 65,000 manats ($83,000 according to the last official exchange rate).

Injured persons can apply to the Bureau of compulsory insurance for receiving compensation in the following cases:

- If the harm to the person's health was caused by an unknown auto vehicle;

- If the damage to the health of the third person was caused as a result of the use of a auto vehicle by a person without an agreement on compulsory civil liability insurance, on the condition that the charges against the victim's claim for compensation have not been satisfied by the person responsible for the accident.

The Compulsory Insurance Bureau of Azerbaijan is operating since December 2011.
