Economic Council to discuss state of small and medium-sized enterprises in CIS

The state of small and medium-sized businesses as well as regulatory regimes in the field of banking supervision and management in the CIS countries will be discussed during the 58th CIS Economic Council meeting in Moscow on June 18, according to a statement posted on the official website of the CIS Executive Committee.

According to the statement, the agenda of the meeting also includes issues with regards to implementation of the action plan for undertaking the second phase (2012-2015) of the CIS Economic Development Strategy for the period up to 2020.

Also included are the course of implementing the provisions of the Treaty on the free trade zone of 18 October 2011, implementation of a set of actions for 2012-2014 on realisation of the Interstate programme of innovation cooperation of the CIS up to 2020, the draft concept of cooperation of CIS countries in the field of renewable energy sources and a plan of priority measures for its implementation.

The meeting participants will also consider a draft agreement on consolidated financial statements of national economic entities of the CIS, the draft Concept of formation and development of the interstate system of training and retraining of personnel in the field of scientific and technical information, review of the business climate, incentives given to investors, free economic zones, industrial and science and technology parks and study the results of the regional monitoring of ICT development in these countries.

The meeting will also determine the date and venue of the next CIS Economic Council meeting.
