Azerbaijan, Baku, July 5 / Trend E. Ismailov /

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC sent 26 passenger wagons abroad for repair, head of the company's press service Nadir Azmammadov told Trend on Friday.

"In particular, 10 coaches were sent for repair to Ukraine, and 16 to Russia (to the city of Voronezh)," Azmammadov said.

Azmammadov said that 35 passenger wagons out of 50 sent to Ukraine for capital repairs have already returned to Azerbaijan's capital.

"The remaining 15 passenger wagons will be delivered before the end of summer," Azmammadov said.

The passenger wagons were sent for repair to the Ukrainian plant due to the lack of technologies for repairs of passenger wagons in Azerbaijan.

According to the deputy head of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Gurban Nazirov, the company plans to purchase 100 new passenger wagons within the framework of renovation of wagon fleet.

Also 50 locomotives will be purchased for cargo transport and 12 locomotives for passenger transportation.
