Qatar to send delegation to Georgia to study country's investment opportunities

From October 12 to October 13, Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Pandzhikidze paid a visit to Qatar. The Georgian delegation also included the Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia , Director of the Georgian National Investment Agency Giorgi Pertaia and executive director of the Co-investment Fund Giorgi Bachiashvili.

As the Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend on Monday, during the visit, the delegation met with the Prime Minister and the Qatar Interior Minister, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the country's Foreign Minister Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah and head of the Qatar Foundation Saad Al Muhannadi.

According to the statement, during the meeting the parties emphasised the strengthening of bilateral relations between Georgia and Qatar in different areas and outlined specific steps for future cooperation.

In addition, they discussed prospects for the development of political, trade, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

According to the statement, Qatar expressed interest in investing in Georgia and decided to send a delegation to the country to study specific opportunities.

The Qatari side also expressed its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

During the visit, the delegation also met with Qatari heads of state investment companies and private businesses to attract investments to Georgia. The sides discussed the possibility of investing in Georgia as well as specific areas of cooperation in this field.
