Georgia's foreign trade turnover with CIS countries increases

Georgia's foreign trade turnover with CIS countries amounted to $2.596 million in January-September or nine per cent more than in January-September 2012.

As the Georgian Statistics Office told Trend on Thursday, exports amounted to $1 122 million or 23 per cent more, while imports to $1 473 million or 0.3 per cent more than the same period last year.

The share of the CIS countries amounted to 34 per cent in the total trade turnover of Georgia, including 56 per cent in exports and 26 per cent in imports (in January-September 2012 respectively it was 31, 51 and 25 per cent).

The EU countries accounted for 10 per cent of the trade deficit (14 per cent last year).
