Rufiz Hafizoglu-Trend: Starting from April 10, 2014, Turkey will abolish the procedure for obtaining entry visas at security checkpoints to enter the country, Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Omer Chelik said, the Anadolu agency reported on Tuesday.

According to him, abolition of the above-mentioned procedure is facilitated by the launch of an electronic visa system.

The Minister also stressed that in 2013 over 100 foreign citizens have received e-visas to enter Turkey.

Chelik added that 65 per cent of tourists come to Turkey without a visa and 32 per cent receive one at the country's checkpoints.

The e-visa system in Turkey was launched in April 2013.
