Some $540 million allocated to targeted programmes in Azerbaijan’s health care sphere

By Emin Aliyev -Trend: In recent years 423 million manat was allocated from the Azerbaijan's state budget on implementation of targeted programes in health care sphere, Deputy Minister of Health Elsever Agayev told speaking at the meeting of the Social Policy Committee of the Milli Mejlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan on Nov. 7.
According to him, the targeted programmes have demonstrated their effectiveness.
"Today for the implementation of the specific programmes the state budget allocates as much as to the whole sphere of health care 7-8 years ago," the Deputy Minister said.
The draft state budget for 2014 considers increasing health care costs by 14 percent.
