Cargo transportation volumes in Eurasian Transport Corridor’s Azerbaijani section increases

Some 43.9 million tons of cargo was transported from January-September via the Eurasian Transport Corridor through Azerbaijan, which is 4.3 per cent more than the same period of the last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on Nov. 18.

Some 46.5 per cent of the total volume of transported cargos accounted for road transport, some 36 per cent accounted for railway transport and 17.5 per cent for maritime transport.

According to the committee, in January-September some 213.2 million people were transported within the corridor, which is 9.4 per cent more than the same period of 2012.

Revenues from transportation of goods within the corridor stood at 341.9 million manats, which is 7.3 per cent more than the same period of last year. In turn, the amount of revenues from passenger transportations amounted to 71.1 million manats, which is 16 per cent more than in January-September last year.

The official exchange rate for Nov. 18 is 0.7844 AZN/USD.
