USD sold at 25,543 rials at Iran’s forex center

US dollar was sold at the price of 25,543 rials at Iran's forex center on May 18.

Euro was also presented at the price of 34,980 rials, while British pound was traded at 42,956 rials, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on May 18.

Euro, British pound and US dollar were traded at the same prices on Saturday.

US dollar was also sold at the price of 33,000 rials at the free market on May 18, while Euro and British pound were presented at the price of 45,400, and 55,300 rials, respectively.

The foreign exchange center was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2012.

The center allows importers of goods including truck tires, construction equipment and synthetic fibers to buy dollars at a rate 2 percent cheaper than the street rate at any given time.

According to the center's spokesman Samad Karimi, Iran's forex center has the capacity to trade over 100 million dollars each working day.
