"Three new plants worth 23 billion tenge (180.87 tenge = $1) will be commissioned by the end of 2014. The work on the construction of the necessary infrastructure, customs terminal and water- and electricity supply facilities, railways and fences has already started, to ensure successful launch of these projects," Bozumbaev said at the briefing in the Central Communication Service on Nov. 21.

He noted that all the three new enterprises will be launched in the special economic zone "Pavlodar".

"It is envisaged to allocate 28 billion tenge from the state budget in 2014-2016 to the construction of the special economic zone's infrastructure. From this sum 3.1 billion tenge will be spend on infrastructure in the zone in 2014," the region's head said.

Moreover about 40 billion tenge worth of private investments were invested in the special economic zone's infrastructure in 2014.

Bozumbaev noted that the industrialization map envisages implementation of 87 projects worth 1.3 trillion tenge in the Pavlodar region. The projects will create 4,600 jobs.

A total number of 60 projects worth 242 billion tenge have been launched and 4,600 work places have been created by now.

"The second five-year period of the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development will have great importance for the economy of the region. Within the framework of the program, we will implement 19 projects worth over $1.1 trillion tenge," Bozumbaev said.

The largest of these projects - is the construction Bozshakol mining and processing plant, with a production capacity of 140,000 metric tons of copper concentrate per year.

The plant will process 30 million metric tons of copper ore per year and 1,500 new jobs will be created here.
