The price for a barrel of Brent crude oil fell Jan.7 on the London Oil Stock Exchange below $50, TASS Russia news agency said.
The price per barrel here was $49.98, which is the lowest price since 2009, according to the latest data.
Today, the barrel has already lost 2.15 percent of the cost ($ 1.12).
It was earlier reported that the cost of supplies of Texas light crude oil (WTI) in February fell by $2.11 (4.22 percent) at trading in New York to $47.93 per barrel. The last time it was at that level was during the global financial crisis of 2008.
