Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to $694 million in January 2015, which is 9 percent less than the figure in the same period of 2014, a preliminary report of the GruzStat (Georgian National Statistical Service published Feb.13 said.
During the reported period, Georgia's exports decreased by 30 percent compared to January 2014 and were equal to $156 million. In total, about $538 million worth of goods was imported into the country in January 2015, which is 1 percent less than the volume of imports in the same period of 2014.
The country's trade deficit in January 2015 stood at $382 million or 55 percent of the foreign trade turnover.
