Currently, some 37 foreign airlines make flights from Iran to 57 world's airports, Morteza Dehghan, the head of the Airports, Airlines & Aeronautical Institutions Supervision Office at the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, told IRNA news agency.
"The national airlines of Greece started to make flights from Athens to Tehran in August 2015," he said.
"Two German companies (Lufthansa and Germania) make flights to Iran," he said. "Lufthansa planes make daily flights to Tehran and back. Germania makes flights from Berlin to Tehran and Mashhad."
Besides making flights, Lufthansa is also interested in investing in the aircraft maintenance and repair.
Dehghan said that currently foreign companies want to increase the number of flights to Iran. They appeal regarding this issue and examine it.
