Total assets of Uzbekistan's commercial banks stood at 62.1 trillion soums as of late September 2015, while the total loan portfolio of the country's banks reached 39.7 trillion soums, said the message from the country's Central Bank.
The official exchange rate on Oct.21 is 2663.45 soums/$1.
This is while the total assets of Uzbekistan's commercial banks was equal to 56.2 trillion soums, while the total loan portfolio stood at 34.8 trillion soums as of late December 2014.
Thus, these figures have increased by 10.5 percent and 14.1 percent, respectively since early 2015.
The total volume of deposits attracted by Uzbek banks reached 31.8 trillion soums as of early October, compared to 28.6 trillion soums as of early 2015 (an increase by 11.2 percent).
The total capital of banks has increased from 6.9 trillion soums as of 2014, to 7.4 trillion soums in Jan.-Sept. 2015 (an increase by 7.2 percent).
Currently, 26 commercial banks operate in Uzbekistan's banking system.
