Passenger transportation slightly up in Kazakhstan

Almost 1.793 billion passengers were transported by all types of transport in Kazakhstan in January 2017, which is one percent more than in the same period of 2016

Almost 1.793 billion passengers were transported by all types of transport in Kazakhstan in January 2017, which is one percent more than in the same period of 2016, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee’s data.

Revenues from passenger transportation stood at around 31.166 billion tenges (319 tenges = $1) during the period.
Passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles increased by 1 percent percent in January 2017 and reached 1.79 billion people. Revenues from passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles hit 7.767 billion tenges in the reporting period.

Air transportation of passengers increased by 11.3 percent and reached 491,370 people during the period. Revenues from air transportation of passengers reached 17.538 billion tenges.

This is while the rail passenger transportation decreased by 4 percent and stood at 1.68 million people during the period. Revenues from rail passenger transportation amounted to 5.861 billion tenges.
