Kazakhstan’s car output up

Car plants in Kazakhstan produced 549 cars in January 2017 compared to 327 cars produced in January 2016, Kazakh Statistics Committee reported.

In December 2016, the output was 240 cars.

Meanwhile, minibus and truck production decreased in the reporting period.

In January 2017, Kazakhstan produced 7 minibuses compared to 18 minibuses produced in January 2016. Truck production in Kazakhstan fell from 59 trucks in January 2016 to 4 trucks in January 2017.

In 2016, the car output of plants in Kazakhstan was 8,397 as compared to 12,453 in 2015.

Car sales in Kazakhstan have been decreasing since 2014. Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Auto Business Association said that official car dealers’ sales dropped from 97,469 cars in 2015 to 46,712 cars in 2016.

Three large car plants – AZIA AVTO, SaryarkaAvtoProm and Agromashholding – operate in Kazakhstan. These plants manufacture Kia, Chevrolet, Skoda, Hyundai, SsangYong, Peugeot and cars of other brands.
