Kazakhstan plans to attract $67 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the project on the Modernization of secondary education

Kazakhstan plans to attract $67 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the project on the Modernization of secondary education, Kazakh Finance ministry said in a message.

Within the project, as much as 5,400 rural schools will be equipped with 16,000 sets of technical equipment. Moreover 200,000 teachers and directors of rural schools will be trained to work with slow learners. In addition 515 teachers of higher education institutions will be trained to teach math and natural sciences in English.

The project will cover 1.3 million students in rural schools.
Administration and expenditure of funds will be carried out by the project administrator - the Ministry of Education and Science.
