Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Sept. 23

By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Design and estimate documents are being prepared for reconstruction and modernization of a sea port in the Caspian littoral city of Garabogaz in Turkmenistan, the Watan newspaper reported Sept. 23.

Chemical products are expected to be exported via the port. The port’s designed capacity will be 3,500 tons of cargo per day.

A tender on the project was announced in 2016.

Meanwhile, a Japanese-Turkish consortium is building a plant for production of 1.155 million tons of urea per year in Garabogaz. The plant will be the biggest urea enterprise in the country and the contract is estimated at approximately $1.3 billion.

Convenient location of the enterprise on the Caspian shore will allow sending products to consumers both by road and by sea.
