A mission of the “Cooperation of Azerbaijan and Arab Countries” Public Association plans to visit several Arab countries in October-November 2017, the Association’s Chairman Elshan Rahimov said in an interview with Trend.

“Our delegation will include representatives of big companies. We plan to visit Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The UAE is not a new market for us, but we have a visa-free regime with Kuwait. However, the rest of the countries are relatively new for us,” noted Rahimov.

The list of companies, representatives of which will be included in the Azerbaijani mission, include those operating in the fields of agriculture, trade and IT, but this list will be further expanded, he said.

In general, local companies show great interest in establishing ties with the Arab world, including small and medium-sized companies and IT start-ups.

“Our goal is to establish a strong connection between the entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and the Arab countries, to contribute to the increase in the volume of mutual investments, to increase the number of mutual business visits and, of course, to stimulate the development of trade relations,” added the Association’s chairman.

According to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, trade turnover with Arab countries amounted to about $280 million in January-August 2017, including $240 million accounted for the export to Arab countries.
