Kazakhstan experiences lack of aircraft for regional flights. The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan previously declared that only seven AN-28 aircraft remain in the country’s light aviation.
“There is a shortage of regional aircraft in Kazakhstan. Regional aircraft can only transport 15-20 passengers per one flight, that is why the aircraft flying to the regions are essential,” said Toty Amirova, a representative of the Civil Aviation Committee, Kazinform reports.
However, despite the lack of regional aircraft, there is a significant growth in the country’s ultra-light aircraft fleet.
“The country’s ultra-light aircraft fleet grows at a tremendous rate. Last year, there were 602 ultra-light aircraft, this year the number of such aircraft reached 662,” Amirova said.
