Fifteen interdistrict civil courts have been provided with 57 sets of modern computer equipment in Uzbekistan’s Fergana Valley as part of the "Rule of Law Partnership" project, the US embassy in Uzbekistan said.

The project is implemented jointly by the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Multimedia equipment worth $60,000 will allow connecting to the E-SUD national electronic case management system, which will greatly reduce case-handling time.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan Kholmumin Yodgorov, US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Pamela Spratlen, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Farid Garakhanov, employees of courts and others attended the equipment delivery ceremony in Fergana civil court.

The E-SUD system was developed in 2013. To date, around 950 specialists have been trained at the E-SUD workshops throughout the country. Seventy five civil courts are using the E-SUD system in the country.
