Turkey reveals revenues from Tax Free system

Turkey’s revenues from the Tax Free system for nine months of this year amounted to 540 million liras ($147.19 million as of Oct. 18), which is 29 percent more than in the same period last year, a source in the country’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism told Trend.

According to the source, 20 percent of Turkey’s revenues from the Tax Free system for the reporting period accounted for the share of tourists from Saudi Arabia, which is 28 percent more than in the same period of 2016.

During this period, 10 percent of Turkey’s revenues from the Tax Free system accounted for the share of tourists from Iran and Kuwait, 8 percent accounted for the share of tourists from China and 6 percent accounted for the share of tourists from Azerbaijan and Qatar, the source noted.

“The remaining 56 percent of Turkey’s revenues from the Tax Free system accounted for the share of tourists from other countries,” the source said.
