The national accounting and financial reporting system in Turkmenistan will be brought into line with the current international standards, Turkmenistan State News Agency reported Dec. 16.
To this end, during 2018, it is planned to conduct preparatory activities, including the development of guidelines, introduction of software, organization of seminars with the participation of experts from leading financial institutions, according to the report.
“The use of international financial reporting standards is an important component when entering foreign markets, which becomes especially topical considering Turkmenistan’s active integration into the system of global economic relations,” the report quoted the country’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as saying at a government session.
Turkmenistan has embarked on a policy of gradual transition to market economy.
