Trade in retail outlets of Kazakhstan in 2017 is gaining momentum, following the gradual recovery of the country’s economy from the crisis. In 11 months, the value of retail operations has already reached 7.77 trillion tenge, which is 15.3 percent more than in the same period of previous year.
For comparison, in 2016, the annual growth amounted only to 2 percent, in 2015 the indicator even fell by 2.5 percent, Energy Prom reported.
Wholesale trade level also grows in Kazakhstan. In January-November, the value of wholesale trade reached 17.8 trillion tenge, increasing by 7.7 percent, compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
In 2016 the wholesale trade decreased by 4 percent, compared to 2015.
The share of wholesale and retail trade in Kazakhstan's GDP amounted to 15.7 percent in three quarters of 2017.
