Kazakhstan’s 3 big companies to offer shares at AIFC

Initial public offerings (IPOs) of Air Astana and Kazatomprom and secondary public offering (SPO) of Kazakhtelecom will be held at the stock exchange of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) in the fourth quarter of 2018, AIFC Manager Kairat Kelimbetov said at a press conference.

“Currently, the stock exchange together with the Samruk-Kazyna Fund carries out work on implementation of privatization processes. The possibility of privatization of such companies as Air Astana, Kazakhtelecom and Kazatomprom is considered for the fourth quarter of 2018, in accordance with the plans of Samruk-Kazyna," Kelimbetov said at a press conference, Atameken Business Channel reported.

Road shows of the companies are planned for the first half of 2018.

"We also had a discussion with the head of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, Akhmetzhan Yesimov, and agreed to organize investment conferences, investor days, road shows in the world's largest financial centers - Singapore and Shanghai - in the first half of 2018. We also plan to hold presentations in Europe and the cities of the Eurasian Economic Union, including Moscow and St. Petersburg," Kelimbetov added.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that shares of Air Astana and Kazatomprom within the IPO can be placed simultaneously in Astana and London.
