Number of orders for Azerbaijani non-oil products from abroad up

The applications for supplying Azerbaijani non-oil products worth $185.6 million in January-March 2018 were accepted via Azexport portal (www.azexport.az) which is by 2.3 times more compared to the same period of 2017, according to the Export Review, published by the country’s Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

The applications worth $66.5 million were accepted in March 2018, applications worth $ 37.6 million were accepted in February, applications worth $81.5 million were accepted in January.

In general, since January 1, 2017 till March 31, 2018, the applications for supplying Azerbaijani non-oil products worth $660.6 million were received from 90 countries.

Russia is leading in terms of the total volume of applications for January-March 2018. Thus, 18.4 percent of all applications accounts for Russia, followed by Iran (6.9 percent of applications), US – 6.9 percent, Turkey (6.3 percent), Ukraine (4.6 percent).

Analysis of the applications shows that the biggest number of orders in January-March 2018 accounted for wine, eggs, pomegranate juice and apples. Demand was also observed for purified hazelnut, confectionery, tomatoes, wheat bran, pasta, tea, saffron, cottonseed oil, medical gauze, decorative flowers, canned meat, persimmons, apples, pomegranate juice, strawberries, silk carpets, licorice root and other products.

Azexport portal was created in accordance with the president’s order ‘On the creation of a unified database of goods produced in Azerbaijan’ dated September 21, 2016.

The portal aims at providing information on Azerbaijani goods and a favorable platform for their sale on foreign and domestic markets.
