Uzbekistan opens first insulin factory in Central Asia

Uzbekistan has opened an insulin production factory in the Andijan region of the country with financial support of Trustbank, press service of the bank reported.

According to the report, Zamin Bio Health is the only factory in Central Asia specializing in production of insulin for people with diabetes.

The project was initiated by the order of the Uzbek president during his official visit to the Andijan region on June 2-3, 2017. The opening ceremony was attended by head of the Andijan region administration, Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov, and chairman of the board of Trustbank, Sardor Normuhamedov.

The enterprise will produce an average of 10 million insulin bottles per year. The factory’s products will be supplied not only to the Uzbek market, but also to all countries of Central Asia. More than 100 new workplaces have been created at the enterprise.
