Uzbekistan Airways and international Boeing Corporation agreed to supply another Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner passenger jet airliner, the press service of the national aviation company announced.

According to the announcement, the national air carrier of Uzbekistan will have six airliners of this type in the fleet until 2020.

The third Dreamliner, which is expected to be delivered in mid-May, differs from the previous two Boeing 787-8 planes with an increased number of passenger seats - 270 (business class - 24, economy class - 246) and a special compartment for crew recreation.

The new airliner is equipped with $25.6 million GEnx-1B GE Aviation engines, which provide better fuel efficiency, low level of noise and of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

Uzbekistan Airways became the first purchaser of the Boeing-787 Dreamliner in Central Asia. The national air carrier of Uzbekistan performed a non-stop flight from Tashkent to New York for the first time in history on July 27, 2017.

The agreement on purchase of four new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners was achieved during the visit of President of the Corporation Raymond Conner to Uzbekistan in September 2016, and the contract for the acquisition was signed in January 2017. The delivery of the new Dreamliners was earlier planned for 2019-2020.
