The Azerbaijan Association of Producers and Exporters of Horticultural Products forecasts big growth in the production of horticultural products in the country, Bashir Guliyev, chairman of the association, told Trend May 3.
The conditions created by Azerbaijan and the measures taken are stimulating factors for producers and exporters, he said.
"We see a huge number of enterprises that are being built today, for example, greenhouse complexes, warehouses for finished products, and processing enterprises," Guliyev said. “Among the taken measures, I can mention, first and foremost, the mechanism for encouraging exports, customs privileges, facilitation of procedures for launching business, in general, improvement of the conditions for entrepreneurship."
“Today, there is a shortage of agriculture specialists in the country,” he said.
"There is a great shortage of specialists in all areas, including such areas as finance and marketing,” Guliyev said. “For this purpose, we launched a special project in December 2017 within the association, which is a platform for exchanging the experience of finance specialists, agrarians, marketing specialists and managers."
According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, 75,600 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $80.7 million were exported from Azerbaijan in January-March 2018. The export value increased by 45 percent in January-March 2018 compared to the same period of 2017.
