Azerbaijani-Russian JV plans to export quarter of its products

The Azerbaijani-Russian Hayat Pharm pharmaceutical plant plans to export 25 percent of its products by 2025, a company representative told Trend on May 7.

He added that Georgia, Iran and Central Asian countries are considered to be the main sales markets.

The company representative said that the work is being carried out in this direction jointly with the Russian company "R-Pharm", one of the shareholders of Hayat Pharm.

"R-Pharm will provide marketing opportunities of its distribution network for products manufactured in Azerbaijan to supply them to the markets of Central Asia and CIS countries, " the company representative said.

Previously, Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Niyazi Safarov said the construction of Hayat Pharm will be completed by 2019. Safarov noted that $74 million were invested in the plant’s construction. The plant plans to reach its full production capacity in 2020, said Safarov.

The plant will be put into operation in stages. Firstly, there will be organized primary and secondary packaging of medicines, then production of finished medicines through supply of semi-finished products, and a complete production cycle of active pharmaceutical substances.

Hayat Pharm will produce medicines of various pharmaceutical groups, including cancer, antifungal, antiemetic, antiviral and other drugs.
