Kazakhstan increases production, export of agricultural products

Kazakhstan’s gross output of agricultural products increased by 3.9 percent in the period from March to May 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said in a message.

The production of food products, in turn, increased by 6.3 percent.

"The amount of livestock and poultry, in the mentioned period, increased by 4.1 percent. At the same time, meat production increased by 4.8 percent, from 345,100 tons to 361,600 tons, milk - by 2.5 percent, from 1,942,900 tons to 1,992,500 tons, eggs - by 15.7 percent to 2.1 billion," the message said.

Exports of agricultural products increased by 47 percent and exports of processed agricultural products increased by 26 percent.

The inflow of investments into the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan increased by 1.4 percent, amounting to more than 88 billion tenge.

“The approaches to the state regulation of the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan were revised by the country’s government with an emphasis on protecting the domestic market, expanding external sales markets, developing the trade and logistics infrastructure, and increasing the availability of financing for the agro-industrial complex to preserve the country's competitiveness and its further development,” according to the message.
